WHAT EXACTLY IS GRIPWALK?
GripWalk has two components:
1. A ski boot sole partly made of softer material with a rockered profile and
2. A ski binding designed to specifically accommodate the GripWalk rockered sole at the toe connection
WHY DO I NEED GRIPWALK?
Because walking is a given, natural action, walking in ski boots should be safer and comfortable. GripWalk offers just that: easy and comfortable walking with a natural roll and enhanced grip through the high profiled sole
HOW DO I RECOGNIZE GRIPWALK?
Boot: GripWalk marking visible on ski boot toe area

Sole: GripWalk boot soles are marked with ISO 9523 and a GripWalk logo

Binding: GripWalk bindings are marked with a GripWalk logo adjacent to the AFD (Anti Friction Device)

1. GripWalk is time-saving! The dealer does not have to perform height adjustment to any GripWalk binding when using a GripWalk boot or an alpine boot which is within the ISO standard 5355 Alpine

3. GripWalk is TÜV certified — functionality & performance approval by an independent technical inspection authority

CAN I MOUNT GRIPWALK SOLES MYSELF?
GripWalk soles must be mounted by an authorized dealer so that the necessary adjustments to your binding release and retention settings are performed
WILL MY OLD BINDING BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE NEW GRIPWALK SOLES?
No. By switching to GripWalk soles it is compulsory to use a GripWalk compatible binding.

WILL SKIING WITH GRIPWALK BE AS GOOD AS IT IS WITH MY TRADITIONAL ALPINE BINDING?

I HAVE A GRIPWALK BINDING. CAN I STILL USE MY OLD TRADITIONAL ALPINE SKI BOOT?
YES, your alpine boots can be used with GripWalk bindings as long as they are within the standard ISO norm 5355 alpine.

WHAT IF A CUSTOMER GOES ON HOLIDAY USING A BOOT EQUIPPED WITH GRIPWALK? WILL THERE BE COMPATIBILITY ISSUES?
GripWalk is the most prolific and widespread category for walkable ski boots and ski bindings.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A CUSTOMER WANTS TO EXCHANGE TO REGULAR ALPINE SOLES? (converting boot soles to ISO 5355)
If a customer wants to go back to using standard soles, the GripWalk sticker/print must be removed from the boot and the conversion to standard soles must be performed by an authorized dealer.
I HAVE A GRIPWALK BINDING. CAN I ALSO STEP IN WITH MY TOURING BOOTS?
No, GripWalk bindings are only compatible with Alpine Soles ISO 5355 and ISO 9523 with additional GripWalk soles.
WHAT DOES “ NO ADJUSTMENT NEEDED“ MEAN?
“No adjustment needed“ means that it is not necessary to perform a height adjustment to a GripWalk binding when stepping in with either a GripWalk equipped boot or a standard alpine boot (ISO 5355). This does not refer to the binding adjustments needed for precise release functions.
Adjustments to the binding release settings need to be carried out by an authorized dealer.
Identification
HOW DO I RECOGNIZE THAT A BOOT IS EQUIPPED WITH A GRIPWALK SOLE?
A boot outfitted with a GripWalk sole has:
1. A GripWalk sticker placed in the toe area of the boot
2. A GripWalk incorporated icon or a printed logo on the actual GripWalk sole
3. A reference to ISO 9523 on the sole
Please check to make sure you are actually using a GripWalk product.
HOW DO I RECOGNIZE A BOOT WHICH HAS BEEN RETROFITTED WITH GRIP WALK SOLES?
If the GripWalk sole is mounted retroactively by a dealer, the dealer will put a GripWalk sticker on the toe area of the boot. If the GripWalk sole is already pre- mounted, the boot will come with a sticker or print out of the factory
